Hayden had never been the type who found it easy to express their emotions and feelings which had become evident throughout the months Maria and himself spent together. He could never quite express exactly what he was feeling —— Or trying to avoid feeling, for that matter. For someone who didn’t want to hold these feelings, Maria sure did make him feel a lot. What those feelings were exactly was still unknown to the boy himself. There was no denying that he had feelings towards her, however. He might not be able to express them through words but thanks to the connection the pair shared, it was obvious that Maria was able to read him like book and well enough to realize he shared mutual feelings —— Even before he knew of them himself. A smile curved at the corner of his lips at the girls words. Maria continuously made the boy smile without even trying and a simple state was enough to lift his mood immediately. Any doubts he had about the pair immediately disappeared whenever he was in her presence. “Aye, don’t get all sappy and cheesy on me now. I’m glad you’re happy, though. I mightn’t have realized at the time, but letting you walk out of my life that day sure as hell wasn’t one of my best decisions. And I know I’ve said this already, but I really am glad we’re doing —— Whatever it is or wherever it might go from here.” Turning his head slightly, Hayden captured Maria’s lips with his own briefly before sinking back into the drivers seat once again. A soft laugh fell from his lips whilst he unbuckled his seat belt and exited the car, following in Maria’s footpaths towards the house. His pace fastened until he was close enough to wrap his arms around Maria’s petite waist and pull her back into his chest. “You know I don’t like losing,” he mumbled against her ear, his breath hitting her neck before quickly pressing his lips to her cheek. Within one swift movement, Hayden’s arms unraveled from around her petite figure and continued towards the kitchen.
Feeling Hayden’s arms wrap around her waist, scared her instantly. Letting a soft scream escape her lips she planted her feet to the ground and chucked lightly as she felt his lips against her cheek. She instantly knew what he was doing, feeling his arms unwrap themselves from around her waist — she watched as the boy bolted into the kitchen, leaving her behind. “You jerk! You knew I’d fall for that!” She chuckled as she ran behind him trying her best to catch up to him. Once her figure was aligned with his, she grabbed onto his shirt pulling him back against her as the pair fell to the floor, his body falling lightly on top of hers. “So, do you really think I’d let you get away with that baby?” She smugged, as she leaned up pressing her lips against his, deepening this kiss momentarily. Pulling away, the Latina rolled the pair over quickly pushing herself up from the ground and running into the kitchen letting a laugh escape her lips. “I think I won!” She chuckled as a smile appeared on her lips, as she jumped up and down. “In your face! You loser!” She said, rubbing it in his face, laughing lightly. Biting down on her lip, she opened the fridge door, grabbing the supplies she needed for the pancakes and started mixing the ingredients together. “You know, whatever it is that we have going on her, Hayden. I really like it. I’m so happy that you came back and saved me from the life I was afraid to leave.” She said, making her way closer to the boy. She wrapped her arms around his neck slowly pressing her lips to his nose. “You mean the absolute world to me and I can’t live a day without thinking about you being mine.” She said, moving her lips to his head. “There’s moments like these, that I live for.” She chuckled as she kissed his cheek. “I really love kissing you, by the way.” She murmured, moving her lips to his other cheek pressing a light kiss on it. Placing her index finger to his lips, she bit down on her bottom lip. “But most of all, I really love the feeling of your soft lips pressed up against mine.” She whispered before pressing her lips against his, catching her lips with his, savoring the moment. “I love you, Hayden” She mumbled, a smile appearing against her lips.
It was crazy how quickly things could turn between Maria and Hayden. Within a matter of minutes, their conversation could go from great, to horrible and back to great. It reflected the roller coaster the pair had been on and it was almost as if they were returning for round two. A smile curled at the corner of his lips as Maria suggested that she’d cook. “You make the best spaghetti, I swear. So that sounds good with me, to be honest.” There was no predicting how things between the pair would turn out. Up until this moment, Hayden had never imagined he’d fall for a girl who was supposed to be just a casual fuck. Yet, here he was, falling for the girl. He was breaking all his rules for her and there was no denying that she was worth it. The drive back to Hayden’s house seemed to drag on longer than usual —— Mostly due to the fact that he was eager to spend time with the girl. “I’m glad we’re doing this —— Whatever you wanna call it. I don’t know, it just feels right.” The words fell from his lips as they pulled up at his house.
The relationship between Hayden and Maria was often a bit rocky, but that never stopped the two from figuring whatever was going on; out. That’s the thing between the two of them, no matter how much they try to deny their feelings for each other — there’s no letting go. Maria would more than likely do anything for the boy who was standing by her side, he was the one person she seen a future with. “Well, I’m glad someone actually appreciates my cooking.” She said with a smirk while running her fingers through her long brunette locks. This moment the two of them were sharing, was nothing but pure and utter happiness radiating through the two of them. “I’m glad we’re doing this too, Hayden. Because no matter how many times we might try to end /this/ I’ll always want you — — and only you.” She said with a sincere smile as she felt her cheeks starting to get warm knowing she was probably blushing. “That day we ran into each other in the grocery store, I don’t regret leaving my old life behind to be here with you. Because this is the happiest I’ve been in a long time Hayden. I don’t know what we are, or what we’ll be in a year from now but all I know is that I love you and I just can’t picture my life without you in it.” She chuckled lightly as she leaned over as the car parked into the driveway and pressed her lips to his cheek. “Now, how about we get out of this car and go make ourselves some food.” She laughed lightly as she climbed out of the passenger’s side of the car — running into the house. “Last one there is a rotten egg!” She screamed loudly as she bolted toward the house trying to beat the boy inside.
The night had managed to send a whirlwind of emotions over Hayden. Everything had happened so quickly that he was still left spinning. One thing he knew for sure though, he didn’t reject a single thing he’d said. He’d meant every word that left his lips and he was determined to stand by his words. A smile curved at the corner of his lips as Maria brushed her lips over his again. His fingers lightly trailed against the small of her back subconsciously as he admired the girl in his arms. “I’m leaning more towards heading back to my place. We can do this another day, without the complications and interruptions.” He let out a light-hearted laugh as his lips lingered against her forehead for a brief moment. Hayden’s fingers intertwined with hers as he pulled back slightly, his eyes never leaving hers. “Unless you’d rather eat here?”
Everything about this night went from shit, to perfection in a matter of minutes. Sure, Maria was still a little bit upset about the situation that had just happened — but she wasn’t going to let that ruin the rest of their night. Everything that the two had shared between each other tonight, was the beginning of a new chapter in their life. They went from being just fuck buddies, to actually having something between them. Opening up to Hayden about how she felt, was probably the best thing that’s happened to Maria in a long time. No matter how many fights they get into, she knows that deep down she’s happy that it’s just a fight and not something too serious. “I’m in the mood to cook something good for you, tell me what you’d like me to make and I’ll make it.” She said with a light chuckle as she laced her fingers with his. “Let’s go home, babe.” She murmured softly as she leaned her head to the side resting her head on his shoulder as the pair started walking to the car.
"After this, you really think I’m going to be stupid enough to make the same mistake? No other girls, no flirting, nothing." For so long, those two words had become a part of his lifestyle. Different girls, flirting and charming his way out of things. Now though, his eyes were on Maria and only Maria. He was determined to make them work, whatever they might be. "Good because the last thing I want is for you to walk out again. You mean a lot to me, y’know. And I’m sorry it took me so long to realize." Hayden replied, his tone resembling Maria’s hushed tone. He pressed his lips together as she spoke, well aware of the fact that it was a promise he’d have to make and keep to Maria if he wanted them to work. He pulled her even closer towards him, his eyes remained locked on hers. The sincerity in her voice tugged at the strings of his heart. The commitment Maria had towards Hayden was never clouded by the actions fulfilled by Hayden. The sandy-haired boy nodded his head slightly. “I promise.” The words fell from his lips in a hushed tone before he pressed his lips to hers once again.
Maria couldn’t help but let a smile linger on her lips, everything about this night felt like she was forced on a roller coaster for the night. In the beginning, it felt like they were going up — only to soon be crashing down and then making their way back up again. Closing her eyes for a minute, she was taking in everything that the boy was saying to her right now. “I promise Hayden, I’m not walking out unless you tell me to go.” She said with a soft sigh as she wrapped her arms around his neck and pecked his lips. “So, should we make our way back into the restaurant or would you rather go back to your place and I can make us something to eat?” She said with a chuckle as she rested her forehead against his.
